STEVENAGE REJECT BOYD BID

Stevenage Borough chairman Phil Wallace has confirmed that they have rejected a significant bid from Peterborough United for striker George Boyd.

Chairman Phil Wallace told Webnews "Barry Fry is a proven judge of young talent and it’s no surprise that he’s increased his bid and tried to buy George again.

We have the greatest respect for Barry and a good relationship with Peterborough but we believe we’re still in with a chance of the play offs so we want to keep our players together as long as we possibly can.

George is a unique talent but fortunately we don’t need to sell anyone. Our club has a great spirit, George is enjoying his football and happy to keep improving under Mark and I think Barry knows that if he were able to sign George then he would be signing a Championship quality player for a Conference fee."
