LATEST ON LAWRIE WILSON

Borough staff acted through the evening yesterday after a horror tackle dislocated midfielder Lawrie Wilson's ankle and broke his leg in three places. The 21-year-old was rushed to The Lister Hospital in Stevenage and he was operated on this morning.

Phil Wallace told webnews: "I think everyone on the pitch knew something was seriously wrong and the hospital could have operated last night with on call trauma surgeons. However Paul Dando and our club doctor Tony Kostick did a great job liasing with the staff at Lister, resulting in Lawrie being operated on this morning by a consultant orthopaedic specialist. I'm delighted to say that the operation was successful and Lawrie is expected to make a full recovery and continue his career as a professional footballer. We hope to see him playing again next year, hopefully before the end of the season."
